Welcome to Year 6!
Welcome to Year 6’s class page, here you will find all of the interesting topics and themes we cover in our class with Miss Howard.

Autumn Term
In English this term we have covered two very interesting books! The first was Holes by Louis Sachar. The children wrote letters pretending to be a child in Camp Green Lake! Our second book has had the children gripped to their seats, Wild Boy, set in London, 1841! The story of a boy covered in hair, raised as a monster, condemned to life in a travelling freak show. A boy with an extraordinary power of observation and detection. A boy accused of murder; on the run; hungry for the truth. The children composed their very own narratives by candlelight describing the life of a ‘freak’ in Victorian London!
This term in Science we have been learning all about our bodies and circulatory system. Beginning with some Blood Smoothies! We also enjoyed dissecting hearts to understand how blood transport through our main organs and we demonstrated a visual representation of how our blood moves through our body! This term has been filled with fantastic experiments that help us gain the knowledge we need to understand the human body!
