Stewards of Creation
Students from Y5 and Y6 are given the opportunity to put themselves forward to be a pupil chaplain with the special title of ‘Steward of Creation’ each year. Our Stewards of Creation’ work with the adult chaplaincy team to lead the school in its faith.
The Stewards of Creation will be taking a prominent role in preparing and supporting whole school assemblies and whole school masses where they will organise the Bible readings, plan the offertory and read our prayers of intercession. They also plan and deliver prayer groups during advent and lent.
In their role of leading the school and community in faith, for the month of October and the Feast of the Holy Rosary the Stewards of Creation created a special rosary pack for every pupil in school to make their own decade of the rosary to make and pray at home.
Stewards of Creation are also responsible for the sacred spaces around school and carry out checks on classroom prayer areas.
Pupils meet each week to discuss their future plans and to come together in reflection and prayer. Each Steward of Creation also works toward achieving the Faith in Action Pin award, where they plan to keep a reflective journal of all that they have taken part in, and a memento of their personal faith journey.
